The Nanna Cart’s Prayer

Our Nanna Cart,

Who art in the porch,

Hallowed be thy Name.

Thy Kingdom come.

Thy will be done in Coles, As it is in Woolies.

Give us this day our daily bread, especially if it is on special.

And forgive us our trips in the car,

As we forgive them that pull out in front of us.

And lead us not into the chocolate aisle,

But deliver us from evil. For thine are the wheels,

The red nylon, and the grippy handle,

For ever and ever.

Amen.

  1. I’ve got one of those in black but without the front zip pocket because mine is a reject shop cheapie. I also still have the square wire one with the big wheels that I showed once or twice on my blog years ago.

  2. I love my nanna cart. It does a sterling job taking books to and from the library too.

  3. Very clever! I wis I was as clever as you. If so I could write a hilarious account of us trying to apply for a Disabled Parking Permit with the QLD Govt Main Roads Dept.

  5. After having to use one last year after hand surgery (not allowed to drive) I have a new appreciation for little ole ladies who use these all the time. I nearly pulled my arm out its socket dragging one of those home heavily laden with everything but the kitchen sink. Kinda went mad shopping. The reality sunk in at the checkout. Never again. Longest walk home ever.

    1. That’s a shame that it was so heavy….. there’s an art to the nanna cart – it should be rolled along behind you and not trouble you with weight. Dare I suggest you give one of these beloved carts another go?
