I set up this blog to shake off the writing cobwebs, but also to see, share and genuinely appreciate the good things about moving to Tasmania.
An honourable intention to be sure, but in my day-to-day wanderings, there are some alarming sights as well and that’s just my reflection in shop windows most of the time. When my brain is functioning reasonably well, the iphone is whipped out and a photo taken.
Here’s a few of the not-so-beautiful sights beheld recently.

I’m not sure if the sticker is the stickee’s opinion of marvelous Moonah or a cool brand that a decrepit Gen-X-er like me is not supposed to know about.

Oh I hear you, especially after seeing the price of groceries at Woolworths!
I’ve also joined a few second-hand, buy and sell Facebook groups in Hobart and where we will be moving too very soon and these shockers turned up for sale:

No doubt you’d be continually ‘trippen’ if you wore these! They look like the unwanted love children of liquorice and lego. I never saw anyone in Europe mincing about in these, so I suspect that there were an extremely optimistic attempt at creating a fashion and the reasonable world went, ‘Yeah, Nah.’
Near the Woolies I frequent, is a Party Shop. It looks about as inviting as being made to wait with your undies off and legs in stirrups for the gynaecologist to finish their phone call:

‘Did you laugh today/’ the wonky lettering says, or threatens. I might have, but nowhere near your scary store. ‘Shuddering’ was the response your sign created.

I’m leaving the scariest one for last. It is from my own fridge at the Air BnB. Each time I open the door to get the milk out or hope that nicer snacks have magically inserted themselves inside, I reel back with in horror with a “PHUCCK me, what on earth…!”

Last night’s dinner – pork and apple sausages in Craig’s delicious onion and balsamic gravy and NOT the landlady’s dog turds dressed up on a plate.
They are my horror pics for today. You may need a xanax and a lie down now, especially after seeing the scatalogical sausages, and please be reassured that said snags were delicious both last night and reheated again today.
